Judge Lindberg’s varied and accomplished career path lends itself to the alternative dispute process. As Judge of the Fourth Judicial District (1974-2000) he expanded and implemented the alternative dispute resolution process.

As the initial chair of USA Hockey, Inc.’s Legal Council. USA Hockey Inc. is the National Governing Body for amateur ice hockey in the United States, as designated by the United States Olympic Committee. He was a principle negotiator for USA Hockey’s status with the U.S. Olympic Committee. he was directly involved with USA Hockey’s retained Counsel, as well as selection of USA Hockey’s first general counsel, a hockey staff member. He asserted general oversight of contract relations with USA Hockey’s many sponsors, it’s license holders, and various venders as well as reviewing the organization’s occasional litigation. Also, under Judge Lindberg’s leadership, the USA Hockey Legal Council adopted an arbitration process for resolution of disputes between amateur hockey individuals and their local or regional organizations. As Legal Council Chair he was required to have direct oversight over USA Hockey’s arbitration process.
Judge Lindberg was also the Chair of the USA Hockey, Inc.’s Suspensions and Appeals Committee, having performed the same role in the past for the Minnesota Amateur Hockey Association and its district organizations. Judge Lindberg served for over 15 years as y one of 200 arbitrators worldwide for the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS),which is the worldwide organization designed to resolve disputes between athletes and their sports federations and also on request to determine Olympic or International competition eligibility.
